Add a shared mailbox to Outlook on an iPhone/Android

To add a shared mailbox to Outlook on an iPhone or Android, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Outlook on your iPhone

  • Make sure the Outlook app is installed on your phone. If not, download it from the App Store.

Step 2: Add the Shared Mailbox

  1. Open Outlook and go to your Inbox.
  2. Tap the profile icon or the Home button (three lines) in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and select Settings (the gear icon at the bottom left).
  4. Under Mail Accounts, tap on your primary email account (e.g., your business email account that has access to the shared mailbox).
  5. Tap Add Shared Mailbox.
  6. Enter the email address of the shared mailbox.
  7. Tap Add Shared Mailbox.

Step 3: Access the Shared Mailbox

  • After adding the shared mailbox, it will appear in your account list within Outlook.
  • You can switch between your primary mailbox and the shared mailbox from the folder view.

Notes:

  • Ensure you have permissions to access the shared mailbox. If you cannot add it, you may need to contact your IT administrator to confirm you have been granted access.
  • The shared mailbox will sync emails, but it might not sync the calendar or contacts associated with it.

If you run into any issues, try restarting the Outlook app or ensure that your Outlook app is updated to the latest version.
